69 Times FYI - December 2008
My lunch run on the 9th of November didn’t attract a huge turnout, not entirely surprising considering the dodgy weather and even dodgier road conditions. Nevertheless Lynne and I were joined by Bob Skelton and Lynda Goodwin; we had a short run across country to the World’s Wonder along greasy leaf-strewn lanes, arriving just in time to avoid getting wet and got a good lunch before sliding off home before it got dark again!
About a dozen members joined in the Skittles this year, maybe the rain put a few off but not these stalwarts. Sadly I had a previous engagement to go to, but I’m informed that Lynton broke the record for ducks this year, and the Jenkins family nearly cleaned up with Nick, Ian and Lewis getting 1st, 3rd and 4th places respectively, while event organiser Cubby managed to fend off a total takeover by getting second place.
Don’t forget to book your places at the Christmas/ New Year do on the 3rd of January so John knows how much food to do; please let Lynne know before Christmas if you’re coming!
The badges have been ordered for the 40th Anniversary Rally next year - it’s a special one-off design – and entertainments have also been booked. There have been lots of people asking when they can get tickets already so it should be a busy one, so get that weekend marked in next year’s diary now!
A Merry Christmas
and a
Happy and Prosperous New Year
to you all
Kim
