2008 Steel Horse Rally, Belgium

Probably the last Steel Horse Rally, this event has been a regular with 69 club members since the Odre van der Stalen Ros was formed around the same time as our club. To commemorate the special relationship and the 40 years of freindship a special plaque was designed and presented to Magda who with her family has run the rally since her husband's death.

2007 Harvest Festival Deliveries

Its that day of the year when the whole club gets to play dispatch rider - well kind of! This was taken by Father Colin just before we set off on the harvest parcel delivery run on Sunday October 14th.

There were 16 recipients of harvest festival goodies from the church is St Peter and St Paul, the parish church of Charlton and Tower Hamlets and it's the second year that the club has done the deliveries.

In the picture you can see the church hall where members of the club are re-painting the fascias and fitting new guttering as well as clearing undergrowth from around the building. The 69 club has a long association with St Peter and St Paul, as it was Father Bill's church and several club couples were married there.

2006

Father Bill Returns to Dover

On the first weekend of June 2006, our Life President, Father Bill Shergold returned to Dover to celebrate Pentecost with his old church. On Saturday evening some members of the club enjoyed an excellent meal with 'Farv' at the Royal Oak in River, and on Sunday we surprised him by turning up en masse to mass at Charlton Church where we were very warmly welcomed by Father Colin Johnson and the regular congregation. Father Bill found many old friends from both the church and the 69 and 79 Clubs had come for the service.

2006 Charity Cheque

Money raised from activities such as events marshalling is given away each year. The previous year's AGM decides who gets the money. This year Dover Watersports Centre, NABD, and Kent Paramedic Bikes got a donation.

2006 Hellfire Corner Rally

A great time had by all with good beer and good company. The traditional challange of getting the bikes back down the slope from the camping field was much helped by the addition of some hay.
